Multi-Level Marketing is a term that describes the structure of a networking concept most commonly associated with the direct sales industry. With its tiered level (hence the name multi-level) shop and recruit pay plan, it is one of the most effective marketing concepts ever created and is responsible for generating multi-million dollar brands that never reach the general public in-stores. MLM and Direct Sales companies had 2015 revenues of over $35 Billion and as many as 50,000 individuals join the industry each week according to the Direct Selling Association.
Companies that use this model for the sales, marketing and distribution of their product, allocate their marketing budget to pay individuals for selling and marketing their product.
