Affiliate Marketing

What it means:

Affiliate Marketing is a term used to describe performance based marketing whereby a brand or company pays an individual or company an agreed upon commission when a customer, referred by the contracted affiliate, makes a purchase from the brand or company.  Sometimes referred to as referral marketing.  Affiliate Marketing differs from Referral Marketing most notably in the use of custom URL links and digital cookies that track and report purchases to ensure the commission is paid to the performing affiliate.
